Everyday there is a song that goes with us wherever we go, or a song that would fit perfectly in any given situation of our life, or a song that you just haven't heard yet, but you are eager to discover...
Whatever the case may be, this will be a space dedicated to show anyone who runs into this blog, the song that was stuck in my head any given day, the song I would listen to if..., or just to give a simple recommendation of what I think is a worth-listening song...
Artist: Nine Black Alps Song: Intermission Album: Everything Is Year: 2005
"Some of you are happy, some of you are poor, some of you would kill yourselves just to be reborn, I hope you're happy, I hope your prayers are answered, I hope you feed your family when my ashes scatter..."
"Maybe come with me to the coast and watch the way the rain comes down, out of the shadows she's more passionate, we'll watch her role in from the south..."
Artist: Sailor & I Song: Tough Love Album: Tough Love Year: 2013
"It's not getting better; It's not getting any easier, I never thought I'd become so cold inside..."
"Day after day, we're wishing our lives would change, as long as you say it's alright, it's alright with me, if we promise too much; more than enough, I never thought it'd be easy; not hard like this..."
*A QUICK ONE: This song has been circulating on my Facebook, through several groups I'm in and it doesn't disappoint.
"Off in the future maybe there ain't no heaven, it's just you and me and maybe it's just as well, 'cause if there ain't no heaven maybe there ain't no hell? Who knows? Maybe there isn't a vein of stars calling out my name... Who knows?"
*JUST SOME WORDS: I've always been concerned about the Universe, space, planets, etc, but lately it is all that occupies my mind. I've been watching videos about it, I've been looking at some photographs by the 'Hubble' telescope and I've let my mind wander. I can't help feeling so small, so insignificant, so humbled, yet so helpless, I can't even assess the entire scope of the universe.
For example, I find utterly frustrating the fact that, and assuming it is true, the photos that we see from 'Hubble' are the image of something that happened like billions years ago and that by the time we are looking at it, things are already different. I would like to imagine a spaceship that's super fast that would allows to discover, but that is just an utopia, just mere speculation, and it bugs me that I won't be able to see what is out there, my life span won't allow me. That's the only reason why I wish there was some thing after death.
Anyhow, I try to imagine how life in in other parts of the Universe, because I'm certain there is, it would be dumb and somehow self-centered to believe we are alone. In this trip I find myself imagining that some galaxies are already connected through their inhabitants, and that there are communities dealing with imminent destruction of their planets or nearby stars due to wars or by natural causes. They travel to one galaxy to another using fast spaceships, meaning they use a far better technology than ours, but not quite yet perfect or supreme to impede that from happening. Maybe I'm influenced by Lilandra's character and that story-line of galaxy travelling.
But pay no mind to my word spilling here, as I was writing it I couldn't find the right words to express it, so it may be kind of lame and incomplete.
Artist: The Pains of Being Pure at Heart Song: Higher Than the Stars Album: Higher Than the Stars EP Year: 2009
"Shitfaced, fumbling in a dark place, drinking in the last days, this street looks just like the next street, bumblefuck on repeat, this time you should have stopped but where's the fun? The outcome, the only friend you ever had is setting off with a rich son..."
*A QUESTION: The Cure much? Doesn't matter, it's cool. It transmits the angst. By the way, like the gringos would say, you know, 'cincou de Mayou'... Japi ford of yulai...
"In my fantasy you look good entwined in my hair and skin and spit and sweat and spilled red wine, you're my deep secret, I'm your pantomime, I'll just move my hands, I promise you'll see what I mean..."
*A COMMENT: I first got this song when 'Alive at Red Rocks' was purchased, it came with a bonus CD. Then it came 'M&M' and a slightly different version. What version do I like more? 'Alive at Red Rocks'.
"Beauty lies inside the eye of another youthful dream that doesn't sell it's soul for self-esteem, that's not plasticine..."
"The only thing you can rely on is that you can't rely on anything, don't go and sell your soul for self-esteem, don't be plasticine..."
*A THOUGHT: Think of all the moments you knew you pretending to be something you were not or going against your flow, just because the situation/people made you feel "forced". Those moments when you feel you betrayed yourself even if it was just for a moment and how shitty it felt. Are you there yet? Well, if you learned out of those situations, kudos. If you didn't, you must feel shitty pretty often.
Artist: Portugal. The Man Song: Purple Yellow Red & Blue Album: Evil Friends Year. 2013
"When I grow up I wanna be, a movie star or on TV, cuz workin' just don't work for me, but I can't focus feeling hopeless, so I'll just sit back, try to relieve..."
*NO COMMENT COMMENT: These days I've been struggling with the lack of new music to post. Or at least not that repeated.
