"I've waited all my life, if not now, when will I? Stand up and face the bright light, don't hide your eyes, it's time..."

*I'M SO EXCITED AND I JUST CAN'T HIDE IT!: Okay just ignore that! :D But it is truth, you can bet your skinny/fat/tight/flabby or whatever adjective that fits ass I am! Today's the day when my favorite band is releasing, after five years, their new album and even though I will have to wait until it arrives to my house probably 2 or 3 days more, I'm like a child being taken to have an ice cream, to the amusement park or to the arcade... Now I would like to take some lines to talk about Hillel's quote that inspired the name of this album, let's break it down...

"If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If I am only for myself, what am I? And, if not now, when?"

1.- If I am not for myself, who will be for me?: On paper the premise it is very simple, but it is also so very often forgotten or ignored, the most important person is yourself... Why is it ignored? Due to the fact there is always some external pressures, we are often worried about what other people might think of us, of our actions and that transforms us into something we are not, it stops us from being ourselves. "THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IS YOURSELF", it may sound selfish, but hey! there comes a time to be selfish, to scratch your own back, there are points in life when nobody else is going to come and help you solve your problems, you cannot go through life entirely depending on others. You have got to know when to say yes, when to say no and when to screw those who are not reciprocal in any relationship or situation in your life with no or almost no remorse of doing it... The 'me time' is very important.

2.- If I am only for myself, what am I?: This continues the chain, and it is about 'choosing' what we become... If in the previous chunk of quote I said you have got to be selfish, then am I a selfish son of a bitch? This is a tricky one and I hope I make myself clear on this... It is OK to be selfish, to think/worry/care about what WE want, but there is a thin line separating being selfish to pursue our goals and being a total prick, putting yourself first doesn't not mean trample on others, if you do that then you are a selfish son of a bitch...

3.- And, if not now, when?: This is basically living the moment, not leaving for tomorrow what you can do today

, as you don't know if there will be another chance to do what you intended to do...

Well, there you have it, my brief interpretation... Now let's sleep for 2 or 3 days, or let's get busy as hell, so time will go faster...

And remember... If you liked it, buy it...
