Artist: Our Lady Peace
Song: Is Anybody Home?
Album: Happiness... Is Not a Fish You Can Catch
Year: 1999
"Tonight, your faith has come down to money & a TV, psychics who've never been to Mars and Nazis breast feeding..."
"Hey, is anybody home? Has anybody wasted tears on the loneliness that everyone becomes? Is anybody lone? Has anybody painted fear on the bedroom walls that save us from the day? Is anybody home? Has anybody wasted tears on the loneliness that everyone becomes when they're not alright?"
*A COMMENT: I think this song basically talks about finding a true meaning to it all, to life... I think it is saying that we live in a convulsed world where there are "gurus" that claim to know THE right way of living a life, a world that has become so materialistic where it seems that the items you own define you, make you who you are... And to some that becomes a goal, having more stuff, living the "cool" way, but maybe they do so to compensate the lack of meaning, to compensate some kind of emptiness, the loneliness, the fear of the unknown, of what is beyond...
And remember... If you liked it, buy it...
