Artist: Guided by Voices
Song: Hold on Hope
Album: Do the Collapse
Year: 1999
"Every street is dark and folding out mysteriously, well that's the chance we take to be always working, reaching out for a hand that we can't see...
"...Everybody's got a hold on hope, it's the last thing that's holding me..."
*A JUSTIFICATION: I wish I had a clever comment about this song, but apparently my brain is a bit dry, so I guess I'm just going to say that the first verse hits the nail right on the head as of describing how life is lived nowadays, and no matter how crappy the situation is, hope is the last thing we really have, it is the thing that keep us going, the hope that things will be better at some point... FUCK YOU invisible hand! Look where you have got us all... And I suppose that 'fuck you' splashes everyone of us, who somehow, directly or indirectly, have benefited from capitalism... Turbulent topic and I was dry, wasn't I? So I'll stop here...
