Everyday there is a song that goes with us wherever we go, or a song that would fit perfectly in any given situation of our life, or a song that you just haven't heard yet, but you are eager to discover...
Whatever the case may be, this will be a space dedicated to show anyone who runs into this blog, the song that was stuck in my head any given day, the song I would listen to if..., or just to give a simple recommendation of what I think is a worth-listening song...
"When you fucked grandpa did he tell you that he loved you? Did he hold you till the sun did rise and did he look into your eyes and ask you to fellate him, and stick a finger or two in his ass..."
*THIS IS JUST A LATE FILLER, THOUGH IT BRINGS PUBERTY MEMORIES.
Artist: Passenger Song: Walk You Home Album: Wicked Man's Rest Year: 2007
"I see you nearly every day, I see you but you don't see me, wish I had something clever to say and, wish I had something better I could be..."
"I'm the boy who watches the phone, I'm the boy who eats lunch on his own, I'm the boy with the monotone, I'm the boy, still lives at home..."
*A COMMENT: So, I've heard a song by 'Passenger', 'Let her go'. And I was like 'could it be the same 'Passenger' I've got a song from?' It has the same kind of "nasal" voice or something. And then trustworthy 'Wikipedia' provided the answer. Yes it was, but here's the catch. Back when I heard this at "The 61" it used to be a band, but now is just the vocalist, but he kept the name.
"This is not about race, it's a decision to stop the division in your life in our lives, this is not about sex, we all know sex sells and the whole world is buying, you're buying yeah..."
"Come with me I'm fading underneath the lights..."
Artist: Aimee Mann Song: You Could Make a Killing Album: I'm With Stupid Year: 1995
"I wish I was both young and stupid, then I too could have the fun that you did, till it was time to pony up what you bid... So you can make a killing..."
Artist: King Charles Song: Polar Bear Album: Loveblood Year: 2012
"...I felt like a man, man as an animal, my senses were desperate to be fed, lost in lust for this girl, she had my mind, I was giving her my heart, little did I know of her designs of my soul..."
*A QUICK ONE: This song has a different vibe, I mean, if I wasn't aware it is from King Charles, I could easily think it is from some other artist, from some other genre. Cool song, though.
"When I was fifteen, sixteen, when I started really to play the guitar, definitely wanted to become a musician. It was almost impossible because the dream was so big. I didn't see any chance because I was living in a little town; I was studying And when I finally broke away from school and became a musician, I thought, "Well, now I may have a little bit of a chance," because all I really wanted to do is music, and not only play music, but compose music..."
*A QUICK ONE: This song is fucking awesome, the climax is top class. Regarding the album, it is a very easy to digest album, nice and catchy tunes. Does it surpass 'Discovery' in my head? No. But still a high quality album.
Artist: Alexander Song: Old Friend Album: Alexander Year: 2011
"Who is this man, who's afraid of death, who fears it so that death's all he brings, I suppose he'll wage war till nothing is left, with a mouth full of teeth and nothing to sing. Well he put his hands around my neck and I suppose I let him from natural respect, and he frothed at the mouth, I twinkled my eye and gave him this vision just before I died..."
*A QUICK ONE: This is a clear example of postponing things. I remember when it just came out, having it in front of my face, within my reach, but since I had spent my money and felt somehow "guilty" I decided not to buy it, even though I could have.
Anyhow, I find this song so soothing, but the kind of redemption-resignation-goodbye kind of soothing.
Artist: The Helio Sequence Song: Back to This Album: Keep Your Eyes Ahead Year: 2008
"We were giving up time, we were giving up ties and everyone knew it too, tongue tied and divided, the wounds just couldn't be found... It always, comes back to this, yes it always..."
"So I kiss goodbye to every little ounce of pain, light a cigarette and wish the world away, I got out, I got out, I'm alive but I'm here to stay, so I hold two fingers up to yesterday, light a cigarette and smoke it all away, I got out, I got out, I'm alive but I'm here to stay..."
*ANOTHER QUICK ONE: And there I was, back home, chillin', suddenly I realized I had just been in my favorite place in the world and forgot to look to this CD. Bummer!
"I can't feel cos I'm numb, what's the worth in all of this? Sing to me... So what's the worth in all of this, if the child in your head, if the child is dead, sing to me..."
*A QUICK ONE: And there I was, at the record store. Looking around, suddenly this caught my eye and I got carried away. "Yay, I bought it", I uttered in my mind. Only to realize that I had bought the US version where this song is replaced. Bummer!
"I didn't want to notice, didn't know the gun was loaded, didn't really know this, what kind of asshole drives a Lotus? I didn't want to bore you, didn't wanna pick up your shit for ya, I've been ready to do this, I'll be there..."
*A QUICK ONE: Enough of late posts. Now let's make comments that no one gives a flying crap for: I'm finding this CD very very entertaining.
"And even though it's late the promise stands; it doesn't fade. And even if it's true you often find the best laid plans, will fall down broken all around you now..."
*NOT SO ÜBER LATE BUT STILL FAKE DATE POST #7: As to why, the reasons are mine, and powerful they were. I'm going to leave today's date (May 18th) and tomorrow I'm going to change (fake) it. Sorry, if there's anything to be sorry for at all.
This is the song that, on the first few listens, made the biggest impression in my ears. Just in case you were dying to know.
Artist: Vampire Weekend Song: Step Album: Modern Vampires of the City Year: 2013
"The gloves are off, the wisdom teeth are out, what you on about? I feel it in my bones, I feel it in my bones, I'm stronger now, I'm ready for the house, such a modest mouse, I can't do it alone, I can't do it alone..."
"Wisdom's a gift, but you'd trade it for youth, age is an honor, it's still not the truth..."
*ÜBER LATE/FAKE DATE POST #6: As to why, the reasons are mine, and powerful they were. I'm going to leave today's date (May 18th) and tomorrow I'm going to change (fake) it. Sorry, if there's anything to be sorry for at all.
What to make of this album? I liked it, but I've seen people sucking each other's sausages over it, high ratings and stuff, but I say whoa, whoa hold on... Let it grow on me or else.
Artist: Electric Guest Song: The Bait Album: Mondo Year: 2012
"I've seen everything pass through this town, all of the new, the luckiest kids wearing the crown, don't have a clue, my mother knew it could get me down, left me to wonder who'd allow, the 'why' in the 'how'..."
*ÜBER LATE/FAKE DATE POST #5: As to why, the reasons are mine, and powerful they were. I'm going to leave today's date (May 18th) and tomorrow I'm going to change (fake) it. Sorry, if there's anything to be sorry for at all.
Artist: Gold Fields Song: Dark Again Album: Black Sun Year: 2013
"We've been living with the lights off, been moving in the night, keep swimming through the white wash, we're losing sight..."
*ÜBER LATE/FAKE DATE POST #4: As to why, the reasons are mine, and powerful they were. I'm going to leave today's date (May 18th) and tomorrow I'm going to change (fake) it. Sorry, if there's anything to be sorry for at all.
I DON'T GET THE LYRICS AND THEY ARE NOWHERE TO BE FOUND!
*ÜBER LATE/FAKE DATE POST #3: As to why, the reasons are mine, and powerful they were. I'm going to leave today's date (May 18th) and tomorrow I'm going to change (fake) it. Sorry, if there's anything to be sorry for at all.
As stated, could't find the lyrics, cool song, though.
