*JUST A RANDOM COMMENT: Today I had one of those random thoughts that comes to your mind when you let it wander, the subject was 'divorce' and 'separation' and please note that I'm speaking from an "ignorant" perspective. I'm not giving an opinion per se, I'm just going to tell what came to my mind in those moments... I began to think of how it was possible to go from loving someone to hating him/her, that in extreme cases, because I suppose there is a big scope and it will depend on the specific case, may be they just realized they were on different roads and remained friends, I don't know, as I said it will depend on the case, there could be so many causes and so many outcomes but I think the main premise is the same in each case and to me it relies on the how and the why... I mean to me something does not fit, I guess it is one of those things you don't see or believe until it happens to you... Why did I even think of that? I don't know! It just crossed my mind, as mentioned earlier, random thought.

*A SPECIAL COMMENT: Well the comment is not really special, what is special is the post because it is POST #100 and what better way of doing it than with 'The Killers'.

I was looking at some recent photographs and I noticed that I look different, with traces of dark circles under my eyes and somehow a bit skinnier than I already am. For me the reasons are not so unknown as I have been mentally tired, which is way worse than physical tiredness.

Lately I've been under some stress, I've been doing things I enjoy less frequently, I've been having less rest than usual, work life, emotional life, sport life, etc., every single aspect has been modified at least a little. And as expected, that kind of lifestyle has taken its toll, as described earlier. To give an example, this weekend that just passed, I attended two events, and as much as I had wished to fully enjoy them, I couldn't, I was there but at the same time I wasn't, I was surrounded by many people but at the same time I was alone and let me tell you, that isn't pretty, evidently not for me as I was trying so hard but I simply did not feel it, and sure not for the ones around me, who have to bear with my fucking pout, that although one tried to conceal it, I'm sure it had to show at some point.

Anyway, I guess I have to find some balance, make some sense of it, rest more, prioritize, breathe, get used to it, I don't know, anything to stop this, which evidently is not healthy... but for now HAPPY POST #100!

*A SIMPLE ONE: This was the song that introduced me to Phoenix some yesterdays ago. It has this catchy rhythm that makes me move my feet. About the lyrics, I think they are about rushing things only to later realize differences, which could be as big as the world's biggest peanut, and that leads to the end of it, or simply encounter some incompatibility of moods at a certain point, for example an evening, a reunion, etc. and that leads just to the postponement of things but not the end of it. Although I'm more inclined to think that it is the first possibility that prevails in this song.

*ANOTHER SIMPLE ONE: This CD is so funky/soul/jazzy. It is a perfect choice to just sit back and relax. In this song the beat does not go with the lyrics. Again I think it is about bad moments in life and bad timing, thus the chorus, and even though it is kind of sad it has a glimpse of optimism.

*A THOUGHT: I will change the metaphor of the 'headlights' to another one that I think has the same intention. I guess in life there are points where you get to be the 'pigeon' and some others where you get to be the 'statue'. The statue gets pooped and the pigeon poops it. It is a game of giving and taking, wining or losing, good times and bad times, but the conclusion is always the same, nobody wants shit in their life. The thing here is when you get to be the statue for a long time, those really bad seasons. I have been being the statue for some time now and it would be nice to return to being the pigeon, not to "poop" on someone, but to feel at ease again, like you're winning again...

*A WHATEVER YOU WANT IT TO BE: I don't know what to say today, so I'm just going to put some nonsense gibberish... This is the untold story of Goldilocks. Once upon a time there was a little girl called Goldilocks, who contrary to popular belief was nothing but a filthy burglar. See, she was in search of money or something of value, so as she was taking a walk in the forest, she saw three innocent bears going out of their house and felt the urge to break-in. Poor bastards! they did not see that one coming! Anyway... She thought of breaking a window, but later she reconsidered and thought that it was better to force the door, and so she did. Once inside, she saw three bowls of soup and decided she would have a taste. The soup from the first bowl was too hot and she got upset and began to swear. The second one was too cold so she spat it and the third one was the one she liked. Then, while food digestion was taking place, she began to feel tired, so she decided to sit down, first she tried a chair that was too big for her, so she got pissed and burnt it, the second chair was too big too, but this time she just threw it and the last chair was "tailored" for her, but when she sat, it sucked broke into pieces, and let's be honest, she was a but chubby and had just eaten. Then she saw these beds, the first one was too hard, the second too soft (oh! that picky bitch!) but the third one was just fine and the filthy burglar fell asleep, big mistake!

When the three bears arrived they noticed someone had forced the door, cautiously they entered, only to find their food was gone, their chair were gone!! Tragedy had hit their home. Poor Baby Bear, he was brokenhearted! When they went upstairs to see what the damage had been over there Baby Bear was quick to notice the little rascal had had the nerve to still be sleeping on his bed, so he called his parents, the shout awoke Goldilocks and was surrounded by the 3 hungry bears whose food had been eaten by some stranger, so they decided to eat Goldilocks instead...

So, the moral here is, do not break into the house of some innocent bears, who in desperate times will take desperate measures but if you are still going to do it, don't be a monumental idiot to fall asleep there!

*A THOUGHT: I just had to quote the 3 choruses, to me they are just awesome, somehow I interpret them with a hint of freedom, like getting rid of things that are a burden, things that are tying you and now that you are free of them, you're ready to shine, or to allow new things to happen. Maybe the lyrics were written referring to a different topic but at the end the feeling of freedom is the same. I think the album was written in the context of marriage and letting that someone into your life completely, first because the whole album lyrics lead you to think that and second because in the CD package there's a little message/reflexion, someone explaining how he knew he was marrying his wife when he saw her and what the relationship is based on.
