Artist: Placebo
Song: Running Up That Hill
Album: Covers
Year: 2003
"It doesn't hurt me, you wanna feel how it feels? You wanna know, know that it doesn't hurt me? You wanna hear about the deal I'm making? You, be running up that hill, you and me be running up that hill..."
"You don't wanna hurt me, but see how deep the bullet lies, unaware that I'm tearing you asunder, there's a thunder in our hearts, baby... So much hate for the ones we love, tell me we both matter, don't we?"
Artist: Placebo
Song: Where Is My Mind
Album: Covers
Year: 2003
"With your feet in the air , and your head on the ground, try this trick and spin it! Yeah! Your head will collapse, but there's nothing in it and you'll ask yourself... Where is my mind? Where is my mind? Where is my mind? Way out, in the water see it swimming..."
*A COMMENT: 'Co, co cover week' is almost over, so why not try to end it the best way possible, with these two tremendous covers! OK, first of all I got lucky enough to find and purchase the edition of 'Sleeping With Ghosts' that had this 'Covers' album as a bonus CD, way back in 2003, then a digital version came up in 2005 and finally until 2010 a physical copy was released... The first song is originally sung by 'Kate Bush' contained in her 'Hounds of Love', but Placebo's version just kills it 5 times before it touches the ground! Seriously, to me this song is Placebo's and not Kate's, just awesome, I remember when I first put this CD in my dad's car stereo, I was blown away, and I think my dad was too, I thought to myself 'what and intro, what a song', needless to say it was played over and over again...
And just after 'Running Up That Hill' ends, it comes 'Where Is My Mind', originally by the always awesome 'Pixies', from their 'Surfer Rosa' album. What a rendition! If you could get a copy of this 'Covers' CD, please, do buy it, I can assure you won't regret it... It also has its own version of 'Daddy Cool' xD
And remember... If you liked it, buy it...
