Mew - Comforting Sounds

Artist: Mew
Song: Comforting Sounds
Album: Frengers
Year: 2003

"Into your house, why don't we share our solitude? Nothing is pure anymore but solitude..."

*A SIMPLE COMMENT: What I make of this song is that there is something that is troubling you, it could be anything, but in this specific case I think it has to do with you being surrounded by other people and yet you get this weird feeling that you are somehow alone. Solitude is a very rare state, and contrary to the popular belief is not a bad thing, to some extent of course. You have to learn to deal with it, learn to enjoy it and learn to identify when you have had enough of it, as there is a difference between taking advantage of that time on your own and being secluded from the world, 'cause in the long run that's not healthy or sane.

Another factor that sums when talking about solitude is the kind of people you coexist with, and I mean in terms of human quality, values and stuff like that. I say this because we often deal with people who say one thing and do another, with people who are hypocrites, who only seek you through the good times and in the bad times they are nowhere to be found, in that case I do feel like being alone. But we have to know that there are also some people, unfortunately very few, we could count on, the kind of people that can change the place and the situation whenever they are around you and that we don't have to bear with all the weigh alone, although sometimes is hard to open up.

I don't know, ultimately, it will all depend on how you see solitude... changing the saying a little bit: 'Solitude' is in the eye of the beholder...

And remember... If you liked it, buy it...
