Song: Writer's Block
Album: OvertonesYear: 2007
"I get this writer's block, it comes as quite a shock and now I'm stuck between a hard place and the biggest rock. In my own head consume, I sit back in my room, it's like the tapestries of life get tangled in the loom..."
"I'm lovin' Mary Jane, flyin' with Lois Lane, on board a bullet train, don't know yet if I'm glad I came..."
"Sometimes at night I think too much, about life and love and music and stuff..."

Song: Starz in Their Eyes
Album: OvertonesYear: 2007
"Now why do you wanna go and put starz in their eyes? It's the same old story well they just didn't realize, and it's a long way to come from the dog and duck karaoke machine and Saturday night's drunken dreams..."
*A COMMENT: I post this song (the first one, the second one is just a treat, or not :D) because lately I've been writing a lot at work, I jot these short notes on these little pieces of paper, cut like if they were 'Post-its', I do it when something worthwhile comes to my mind. I carry these little pieces of paper wherever I go because you never know when something awesome is coming your way, you could try to remember but then you risk forgetting it. The idea here is having something I can develop later, put some work into it and make something better.
It could be said that I'm not that new at this, because I have written some stuff and I have at least 10 "songs" but some of them are still unfinished and yet to be improved. The "tricky" part is to find a nice rhyme that has to do with what you are trying to express and as I said that rhyme has to be at least decent, you don't want to sound lame. I'm still honing this "skill" and I hope to get really good at it.
Today I had this block, everything that came to my mind was rubbish and really lame stuff, I got a little desperate, but I had a little reward too, I saw this phrase on the wall and it hit me right in the head, suddenly I felt like "whoa! jot that down", it was like when you are looking so hard for something and suddenly, when you least expect it, you find it and you get very excited. I expect to develop all the notes I have jotted down this week on the weekend. To me the bitching part is coming up with a melody, that's where the gold is! I always end up humming or playing an existing one.
And remember... If you liked it, buy it...
