Song: Should've Listened
Album: The Long Road
Year: 2003
"There's clothes all over the floor, I don't remember them being here before, smell of perfume isn't here, why's lipstick on the mirror? And still I don't understand..."
"Well now I guess I should've listened when you said you'd had enough, a little trick I picked up from my father in one ear and out the other, whys love gotta be so tough?"
*A STORED COMMENT: This is the comment I wanted to make and had mentioned on Saturday's post, but to be honest I was bit lazy and didn't feel like writing, but here it is.
On Friday I was talking to an aunt and she told me that her daughter, who is going through puberty, was out of control. I remembered what it was like to go through that age, and indeed it is a difficult one, after the talk with my aunt and putting myself into my cousin's shoes, I thought maybe I could talk to her, if she listens that's a win, although the odds are she won't and maybe she'd be pissed or me being ignored.
The point I am trying to get to is that generally at certain points of our lives, especially as a kid/teenager, when someone older comes and tells/advises us something about our behavior or about the future or about anything, and they are doing it because they have already gone through that, they have experience and want to help, but again as a kid/teenager your interests are other, your mind is somewhere else and the reactions are these: you either get pissed because you don't need no one telling you what to do OR you pretend to listen and then discard what you have been told. But then as time passes and you grow older you start noticing stuff and realizing some other and then it dawns on you and you say "How right was my dad/mom or whoever told you that" and if life is generous you get to do things right in due time but there are some other cases where it takes more time to fix your actions, if they can be fixed, all because at some point you did not listen...
HAVE A GOOD START TO THE WEEK!
And remember... If you liked it, buy it...
